Qatar e-Visa Types, Validity & Duration of Stay
The Qatar online visa application portal offers 2 main eVisa types for eligible
travellers, depending on purpose and residency status
- Tourist Visa (A1): A single-entry eVisa valid for 90 days,
allowing travellers to enter Qatar for short-term tourism or personal visits. It
permits a stay of up to 30 days.
- GCC Resident Visa (A2): A single-entry eVisa valid for 90
days, available to applicants holding a valid GCC residence permit
from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, or the UAE. It allows a
stay of up to 30 days in Qatar.
Qatar eVisa Allowed Purpose
Both Qatar eVisa types generally allow short-term visits for non-work activities such as:
- Leisure: Visiting Qatar for holidays and relaxation
- Heritage Tourism: Exploring cultural and historical sites
- Family & Friend Visits: Meeting friends or relatives residing in Qatar for a
short stay
- Business Meetings: Attending meetings, conferences, or discussions (non-employment)

Document Requirements for Qatar eVisas
If applying for a Qatar eVisa, you’re required to submit the following:
- Passport Bio Page: A colored scan of your passport biographical page containing all
your
essential details.
- Applicant Photo: A recent, coloured digital photo of the applicant is required.
- Hotel Booking or host information: A confirmed booking with complete details of the
hotel or host.
For GCC Residents Only
- GCC Residence Proof: A clear copy of your valid residence card or permit. (both
front
and back sides).
Common Travel Queries
Does having a passport with multiple visa stamps affect eligibility?
- Holding multiple visa stamps or previous travel history does not affect eligibility, as long as the
passport is valid and meets Qatar entry requirements.
What should I do if my travel purpose is not covered by the eVisa?
- If your purpose of travel is not included under the eVisa categories, you must apply for a
Qatar sticker visa through the relevant embassy or consulate.
Is the visa fee the same for both eVisas?
- The Qatar eVisa fee varies depending on the selected processing options during the
application. The expedited processing options (rush and super rush) incur an extra
charge.
Is employment permitted under any of the eVisas?
- No. Both eVisas are strictly for short-term visits only and do not permit
employment in Qatar.
What happens if the visa extension is not approved?
- If an extension request is not approved through the Ministry of Interior (MOI), the
traveller must leave Qatar before the visa expires. A new eVisa application is
required for re-entry.
