Despite existing visa restrictions, Kosovo and Qatar have collaborated and achieved agreements in various fields over the years. Notably, Kosovo has established an embassy in Doha, Qatar, while Qatar must maintain diplomatic representation in Kosovo.
On January 1st, 2024, following an 11-year process, Kosovars gained visa-free access to the EU’s Schengen zone, including countries like Norway, Iceland and Switzerland. This milestone paved the way for non-EU nations to reconsider visa requirements for Kosovars.

On January 11, 2024, the United Arab Emirates removed visa requirements for Kosovo, responding positively to President Osmani's proposal. Furthermore, Kosovo and Saudi Arabia recently reached an agreement that exempts diplomatic and official passports from visa requirements.
In another development, on January 17, 2024, the United Kingdom granted visa-free entry to personnel from Kosovo's Ministry of Defence and Security Forces who engaged in military and official activities.

Also, Spain removed visa restrictions for Kosovo on the 1st of January, 2024.
The positive impact of visa liberalisation on Kosovo's passport strength cannot be overstated. Kosovo ranks 98th among the world's most powerful passports, up 90 spots. This transformation means that Kosovar citizens can travel without a traditional visa and are passport-free to 4 neighbouring nations.
This historic achievement emphasises the influence of visa liberalisation and reflects the European Union’s authority to enhance passport power.
It is worth noting that in 2023, Kosovars had visa-free access to only 11 countries, greatly improving their international travel options.
